Bones

Sooooooooooooooooo, its the end of my first week as a newbie blogger. Its a little bizzare for me to just write about how my week and work has gone for the world to see, but i feel as though I am already getting the hang of it.

Anyway, I thought I would share with you all a few photographs of some of my work I have been working on this week in regards to my drawing Option at uni. Basically we started the academic year off by making observational drawings of bones that our tutor just so happended to have a spare box of bones (animal) lying around his office in the studio. I have enjoyed sketching these very much, and I have been producing some work in my sketchbook. Because I like my Abstract art I wondered how I could go about creating an abstract drawing of bones and this is what I came up with.

What do you think?

This is an A1 drawing in charcoal based on a number of photographs that I had taken of bones that I put together on Photoshop. I have used an overhead projector to help me enlarge the image to the scale I wanted. So far this is not yet finished I have started on something even bigger!

This is just a close up on the original image I had printed out in black and white. in order to project the image onto the wall I photocopied my printout onto an acetate sheet. I am pleased with this drawing so far, but this is just a basis for me to be able t think bigger.
So the next day in college I decided that I wanted to draw bigger and better. I was given some fabriano paper from one of the other tutors and that was it then, there was no stopping me. Again I used charcoal and the overhead projector to projecct my chosen collage of bones. I am not quite sure the overall size of this drawing so far (will get measurements when I am in on Monday) but it is big believe me lol.

So here it is.

Again this one is yet to be finished and I hope to finish it sometime next week, so hopefully once it is complete I will be able to post some pictures and also tell you how I have been getting on with my end of year degree module. So as they say Tar Tar for now :)
